In the St Thomas a Becket C of E Federation, we want to provide all children with opportunities to immerse themselves in other cultures and languages, deepening their understanding of the world. In modern foreign languages, children will learn to read, write and listen to the French language, responding appropriately in different situations. We provide practical opportunities for children to use and progress their language skills through Key Stage 2, and to learn about the similarities and differences between French and their own culture, including through our upper Key Stage 2 French visit. By fostering an early enjoyment of the subject, we provide the foundation for future learning of different languages.
