At Framfield, we want every pupil to develop a clear understanding of how powerful the spoken word is and how it can be used to express themselves, articulate their opinions and debate ideas effectively and with confidence. We want every pupil to hear a variety of voices from a range of sources so that they can be critical, reflective and empathetic with what they say and think. We aim for children to be given opportunities to use their oral language so that they are excited to have a voice that is heard and that can be used to rehearse in preparation for writing and public speaking. Our aim is that children leave Framfield with a confidence to share their ideas out loud, and that they are fluent speakers who can articulate themselves with clarity in readiness for the key stage 3 curriculum.
