Our pupils have the opportunity to experience a broad and balanced English curriculum, rooted in the National Curriculum and Early Foundation Stage. This curriculum encourages a lifelong love of reading which enables pupils to build and deepen knowledge, skills and understanding in all subjects as pupils develop as effective communicators and impactful writers. This enables them to look beyond our environment and eliminate disadvantage. Our English curriculum is progressive from EYFS to Year 6, providing children with the acquired skills at each key stage to be as prepared as possible for the next stage of learning. This is further developed through our mixed age classes. English is a cross-curricular subject that is at the heart of the whole curriculum.
