Vision
Be the Best You Can Be;
Living ‘life in all its fullness’ (John 10:10)
In our Church of England Federation, we take strength in collaboration, yet celebrate uniqueness. As schools, we may be small but together we encourage children to be the best they can be so they are ready to make their mark on the world. We welcome the child yet embrace the whole family. We celebrate our rural environment yet aspire to look beyond our boundaries. We strive for knowledge and gratefully accept opportunities that come our way to enable us to live life in all its fullness. We all take a pride in our Federation as we follow in Jesus’ example.
We want everyone in our school to aspire to be the best they can be. But we know we can’t fulfil all of our potential on our own. We need help. And that help comes from the inspiration of God’s love for us, the wonderful world He has created for us and the support of our wider Christian community.
Values
Perseverance
Sometimes things won’t turn out the way we want them to. It happens to everyone and it can make us sad. It’s what we do next that matters most – perseverance is getting up and having another go. We learn some of the most important things in life when things go wrong and we try again. And the more we do this, the easier it becomes. It’s not always easy, but with God’s help we can learn from our mistakes and this is the way to lasting success.
“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9
Fellowship
As set out in our vision, we take strength in collaboration. The value is about looking outwards and building relationships with everyone. We learn to value relationships and recognise the important role we all play in the life of our school, community and the wider world.
“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11
Courage
Jesus showed courage throughout his life by standing up for what is right and true.
We show a courageous attitude when we challenge ourselves to be the best that we can, stand up for what we believe and have the courage to say “no”.
“Be strong, and let your heart take courage, all you who wait for the Lord!” Psalm 31:24
Respect
In our communities, we learn that God created us all different and unique.
This is something that we celebrate together. We learn to value each other and the wider community through honesty, tolerance and trust, where everyone has equal dignity and worth as a reflection of God’s love.
“To one another love. Honour one another above yourselves.” Romans 12:10
Understanding
This value is about treating other people and the wider world with dignity and recognising their value. It’s a feeling of deep admiration for other people and their unique qualities. We accept other people’s differences. We are all different and that makes the world an exciting place to live.
“But it is the spirit in a person, the breath of the Almighty, that gives them understanding.” Job 32:8
Thankfulness
In our thankfulness value we think about God’s love for us and His abundant blessings. We talk about showing gratitude and appreciation to those around us. This is part of how we do everything, following our school vision. We talk about being grateful for the talents we have been given and how we can use these to serve others. We are very grateful to live in this beautiful part of the world, where it can be easy to find ‘life in all its fullness’.
“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.” Psalm 118:1
